The Community Story Shelf Initiative is built on relationships.

Relationships grow through honesty, accountability, and transparency.

As this initiative continues to grow, we believe every participating community, sponsor, volunteer, partner, and supporter should be able to see how the initiative continues to develop.

Because trust is something that should be earned.

Not assumed.

We believe every contribution matters.

Whether someone contributes a Community Story Shelf, sponsors another community, volunteers their time, shares an idea, purchases a participation package, or simply tells someone about the initiative...

Every contribution helps another story find its place.

Our commitment is to use those contributions responsibly while remaining true to the values that brought this initiative together.

Community Growth

As communities participate, we hope to share information such as:

• Communities participating

• Community Story Shelves installed

• Local creators featured

• Museums and heritage organizations participating

• Businesses participating

• Volunteers involved

Growth is measured in relationships as much as numbers.

Community Growth Fund

When contributions are not directed toward a specific community or project, they become part of the Community Growth Fund.

The Community Growth Fund helps support future Community Story Shelves, educational opportunities, promotional materials, community partnerships, and other projects that strengthen the initiative as resources become available.

Every contribution helps another community begin.

Directed Giving

Some sponsors prefer to support a particular community, school, library, organization, or project.

Whenever practical, we will honour those requests.

When no direction is provided, contributions help wherever they are most needed through the Community Growth Fund.

Our Growing Story

As the initiative grows, we'll celebrate milestones such as:

• Books placed on Community Story Shelves

• Participating authors and creators

• Schools reached

• Libraries involved

• Community Story Shelves established

• New participating communities

• Community partnerships

• Volunteer hours (if tracked)

We may also periodically publish initiative updates showing how participation fees and sponsorships have helped expand the initiative and support future growth.

Annual Community Impact

Each year we hope to share a snapshot of what communities have accomplished together.

Examples may include:
